Singing in the rain

Everyone's changing and so am I - so I've found another space to keep track of pockets of thoughts. It's not really complete yet, but I just thought I would keep you, who is concerned enough to keep reading me despite not posting in 8 months, in the loop while I'm developing it.

Carboot Sale Episode! (CLOTHES FOR A CAUSE)

On 18th and 19th of April, a group of 3.5 (Chun Meng counts as 0.5 since he turned up when we were about to pack up - he was an effective clothing display stand though!) were peddling our wares at the Big Splash Carpark's monthly Carboot sale (http://www.sgcarbootsale.com), with the theme of children and toys.

It was a long and SUNNY (understated) two days, with the car boot sale committee kindly providing us with a complimentary carpark lot to sell our loot.

Loot by the way, refers to brand new children's clothing made by poor Nepalese women. We helped get this women to learn how to sew, and we sold these new clothes (which came in many cute designs!) to raise money to help sustain the lives of these women:)

Here are some photos to tell a better story of our experience (minus Joanne, who was our phototgrapher of the day) She brought a polaroid camera and we had great fun! I love looking at photos developing instantly:D

Introducing the main actors:

Myself, Chun Meng and Liting when the sun was setting

Ong Liting - our spokesperson with the rainbow-sunshine smile

Myself, looking not so great because of the bright flash in my face but i look like i have a jawline and really long neck - features of a supermodel (yay!) but unfortunately don't go so well together

Chun Meng (La Bi Xiao Xin)

Our lovely booth with hand-made signs and my clothes stand from my bedroom!

Lousy photo with myself being bimbotic with magazine held upside down.
It was really hot in the afternoon (thus leading to low traffic since no one in their right minds would actually want to be caught under the deadly sun urgh). Liting Jodi Picoult to pass time (while looking totally glamourous at the same time)
To survive the entire day, we were adequately equipped with 1.5L bottles of water (plus random green tea bought from 7-11), recycled plastic bags to pack goods sold, magazines (Joanne brought Harvard Business Review and Fortune, rather intellectual! I actually read Economic Review, wow), tissue, scissors, masking tape (to secure our posters), food, stools etc.
Joanne taking random photos of us and we were caught unaware. I was at least, liting was still unaware until the photo was shown to her -.-

Liting and myself, posing for photos as we usually would. Unfortunately, focus of the photo wasn't me (or liting's face for that matter, haha)
Us peddling our wares for the last couple of minutes before packing up - and me posing for a photo again (i can't not pose when the camera is in my face haha)
Liting hard at work selling clothes!
Happy meal to end happy day!
This little kid was crying because she had to share her happy meal toy with her sis, so her father came over to ask if he could buy my Happy Meal toy from me. I didn't sell it to them of course! Instead, i showed her how to play with mine and gave it to her.
Photo with happy girl and her daddy!
That marked the end of a hot and burning weekend! We had great fun getting fried by the sun, and meeting many people to sell our clothes and cause to. A big thank you to the Car Boot Sale committee for giving us the opportunity:)

Dear Wart on the Left Foot,

sorry to have confused you in case you thought you were on multiple feet, i'm sorry you are only present on the Left Foot. And you are a real pest. I went to the doctor today and he tried to remove you for good but when he tried to cut the dead parts of you away, he realised you were too raw and you started bleeding like nothing. That isn't very nice of you - you don't bleed at people you meet the first time! I bet you justed wanted to stay a little bit longer and be wrapped up with gauze and some cool Easifix Cohesive Bandage. I'm sorry to disappoint you, you happiness will probably be short-lived because I AM GOING BACK TO THE DOCTOR NEXT WEEK TO HAVE YOUR BURNED AWAY!

you have been a bad wart, it will be good riddance.

Productivity levels at a new low!

Dear Wart on my Left Feet,

you really need to go away. The feet isn't the most fantastic place to grow - i would suggest trees or windowstills, you'll get a better view of the world. Also, making the sole of the feet itchy isnt' be best thing to do either, you'll piss me off and that's why i'm going to get you burned away with liquid nitrogen. I wish you all the best and may you be reborn as something more productive or pleasant in your next life.

I was watching Red Cliff 2 just now, and i am really fascinated with chinese history. I think that i am always too much in a hurry, to easy to go in a state of panic, to jittery for my own good. (not talking about this exam period, for the exams it's quite the opposite actually haha)

CHILLAX! :)
